In the summer of 2019, I ventured abroad to the United Kingdom through the FIU Honors study abroad program. During this time, we learned the history of the United Kingdom as well as modern day government and United Kingdom relations through a global perspective. The program began in London, were we resided for two weeks and had the opportunity to explore both independently and as a class. We visited historical sites such as the Tower of London, where we learned the history of King Henry VIII and the ill fate that befell on two of his wives; Anne Boleyn and Catherine Howard. We ventured out into Lullingstone Villa where we learned of Roman history and journeyed on a hike (that lasted much longer than intended). We visited various museums such as the British museum, the National Portrait Gallery, and the London Transport Museum.
We had the opportunity to experience Shakespeare in the Globe theater, the Phantom of the Opera in Her Majesties Theater, and a Vivaldi Concert in St. Martins in the fields. As well as day trips to Canterbury, Windsor Castle, Stonehenge, Bath, Hampton Court, the Harry Potter movie set, Abbey Road, Cambridge, and Oxford.
The rest of the trip, we traveled north via train stopping along the way in York, where we saw the home and final resting place of the Bronte sisters. Edinburgh, where we walked the royal mile, learned the history of Mary Queen of Scotts, and climbed the Arthurs seat summit behind the historical Holyrood Abbey. Inverness, where we searched for Nessie the Loch Ness monster and visited the Culloden Battle field. Glasgow and Windermere, where we took a day excursion through the Lake District and visited the grave of William Wordsworth. Manchester, where we visited the National Football Museum. Stratford, where we visited William Shakespeare childhood home and his burial site. Here, we also toured the Cotswolds and had the opportunity to watch "The Taming of the Shrew" at the Royal Shakespeare theater.

During this trip, I also had the opportunity to venture to Dublin Ireland, apart from the group, where I stayed at the famous Trinity college, home of the largest research library in Dublin and The Book of Kells. Explored St. Patricks cathedral and sampled Dublins famous Guinness beer from the Guinness Storehouse.
